Chevrolet has started the production of its mini SUV Trax in China and will be in line to make its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show scheduled for April. Trax will be launched in Chinese market after its debut and it will be manufactured under the Shanghai-GM joint venture in China.
The China made model will carry the badged ‘TRAX chuangku’ and it would costs around 130.000 yuan (Rs 13.06 lakh) for the base-spec variant. Interestingly, the Trax is already available on sale in the Chinese market christened as Buick Encore. The new version would get some front end changes and little bit transformation with interiors.
The new Chevrolet Trax anticipated to be equipped with the same 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine powers the Buick Encore. Additionally, there could be a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre unit positioned underneath the turbo petrol engine.
