The Tiguan SUV, seem would be adorning the roads in India, during the mid of the following year 2016!The famed auto maker from Germany, revealed its plan to premiere the gen next popular sports utility vehicle VW Tiguan in India during the next year.Revealing the new all new Volkswagen Tiguan at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess reported that the SUV is just another sample showcasing the strength and the creativity of the brand.
Ever since the car was lunched back in the year 2007, the VW Tiguan has managed to sell across 2.6 million units till now. The model has been projected to be the third largest selling unit by the brand following the much renowned VW Golf and Polo. Its major highlights include being extremely affordable vehicle, considering the brand and the kind of features it possess.The all new VW Tiguan would also be an environmentally viableoption as the brand has offered the vehicle in a plug in hybrid option too.As per the folks at the brand, the VW Tiguan is most likely to make its presence in the domestics market of the country in the following year, where in the market here is already on a boom, especially considering the SUV segment. In the Indian market next year, where the appetite for SUV is growing at a fast pace.As Audi has already declared its plan to assemble cars locally here in the country.The brand is already looking for an expansion in the country.
Volkswagen is looking for a low-cost manufacturing hub that would look after the emerging as well as developed markets around. Participating the PM Modi’s Make in India initiative, the brand VW is planning to invest around INR 1,500 crore on localization and production of cost-effective products. The company is also looking for intensificationof the production capacity at the Chakan and Aurangabad units in the upcoming two years to more than 200,000 units by the year 2018 and also supplement with additional models from the Chakan plant.
