Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe Concept Revealed
The Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe concept car given cue about the next version of Volkswagen SUV.
The first snapshots of the upcoming Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe have been revealed recently. The SUV is all set to debut during the ongoing Shanghai Motor Show in a few days. The car closely resembles the CrossBlue concept car that was unveiled during the 2013 Detroit motor show in the first month of current year. The main difference is that this coupe has been designed to accommodate five passengers and bears a much sportier appearance. SO in true sense represents the next generation of Volkswagen SUV.
Volkswagen also revealed that the retail model of this Coupe will be manufactured in their facility situated in Chattanooga, USA. The model will be mainly retailed in US and Chinese Auto markets.
This concept also gives a close hint for a new SUV that is about to be released in both these market by next year. The style statement of this car given a preview of the next version of Tiguan and Touareg SUVs. This Coupe concept is 168cm in height, 489cm in length, and is lower and longer than the Totareg. The car has been bestowed with refined aluminum bars that stretch from front grille to headlights.
The car has been designed on VWs’ MQB platform that has also been used for the latest Volkswagen Golf. The same platform has also been the base of Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon, and Audi A3, in future too it is being expected to be used for lot many Volkswagen models.
The power train of this Coupe is plug-in hybrid type that will be empowering upcoming Volkswagen models too. The power backup of the car consists of a V6 petrol power mill and 2 electric motors that jointly churns out power worth 411 PS. The fuel economy of the vehicle equals to 94 mpg and it slides from 0-100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds.
