Toyota has reportedly added another engine for their vehicle line up, that is the new 1.2L turbo-petrol engine. Also called the 8NR-FTS, this engine is available as an option to choose from in updated version of Toyota Auris in the international markets.

Toyota’s new dynamo utilizes a single-scroll turbocharger and gets cylinder-heads with inbuilt water-cooled exhaust manifolds to give working to the exhaust temperature, this according to Toyota, permits the engine to be more active and deliver maximum force over a wider RPM range, and churn out 114bhp at 5200-5600RPM and 18.9kgm of force from 1500-4000rpm.
The 8NR-FTS would be the second turbo-charged motor in Toyota’s line-up of turbo petrol engines, with the first being the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol which give power to the Lexus NX200t.
