Tata Motors unveiled the technical features of the upcoming Zica, during the previous week. Whereas the features enriched sheet has not really spoken about an automated manual transmission (AMT), however a report on Business Standard verifies the technology for this small car but in the later stages, following its launch. The publication seems like had been in touch with Mr. Girish Wagh, Sr. VP, programme planning and management (passenger cars), Tata Motors, who reported that the company would offer Zica along with AMT while the car gets immersed in the market and prepares for a new step, so this feature would act as an Add on, considering a next level of offerings to maintain innovation in the market. As the AMT models of the GenX Nano was launched in the month of May this year, it up by at least 50 percent of total Nano sales.
The Maruti Celerio, being the most direct rival of the Zica is also equipped with the AMT in its petrol mill. The Celerio, being the primary example to acquire an AMT in domestic market of our country, is out carrying a 1.0-L three-cylinder K-Series engine or Suzuki’s self-manufactured 0.8-L two-cylinder DDiS diesel motor. The Tata Zica even though is motorized by three-cylinder petrol and diesel units, while the first one is an all-new motor, and the second one is sourced from the brand’s Tata’s 1.4-liter unit. The Tata Zica is projected to have its market launch during the first week of the upcoming month of January 2016. This being a small car offering in the market, a compact sedan is already getting dressed up to follow its path to the market in India during the first half of the coming year 2016
