Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has been announced that new Tata Xenon Yodha will launch in India New Year on 3 January, the company recently announced it in a press release. Tata Xenon Yodha will be company’s first new launch product for next year. In the launch event, Tata Motors will also announce, for the first time, Bollywood film star Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador for the company's Commercial Vehicle Business.
The new Xenon Yodha pickup is going to be a facelift version of Tata's existing Xenon XT, and is most likely to view upgradation on both inside and out. The Tata Xenon Yodha will be a new variant or an updated version of the pickup truck. Many media reports say that the new Xenon Yodha will be a cosmetic update with some styling changes and equipment review. The speculation is being made on the basis of spy shots of the face lifted model which surfaced in October and last month.
New Tata Xenon is powered by 2.2 liter diesel engine offering 147 PS power and 320 Nm torque with a 5 speed manual transmission with the engine. The new Tata Xenon Yodha is expected to be offered with both manual as well as automatic transmission options.
The company’s aims are to be among the top three commercial vehicle sellers in India within three years. It has registered 16.02 percent year-on-year decrease in this segment for the month of November 2016 and stood at 19,641 units. As per year-to-date (April-November, 2016) commercial vehicles sales grew by 3.18 percent at 192,162 units.
Additionally, the New Xenon Yodha double cab is offered with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 112 kW (150.13 hp) and 300 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard.
