Report-PM Modi want to start work with Volkswagen
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi?s three nation tour, basically to get the maximum business to India seems to have started working already. During his stop in Germany, he got a chance to meet up with the high rank officials of different companies, including Volkswagen.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three nation tour, basically to get the maximum business to India seems to have started working already. During his stop in Germany, he got a chance to meet up with the high rank officials of different companies, including Volkswagen.
Now as a result of their meeting and talks, Volkswagen is planning to invest a whooping Rs 1,500 crore to localize and manufacture its cost effective products. This has been confirmed by the Chief Indian representative of the brand, Mahesh Kodumudi. He also added that Indian would be the Hub for serving to developed and developing automobile markets, basically being a low cost industry set up. In the year 2014, the brand managed to export around 65,000 cars, out of which 60 percent of the production was done from the Chakan Plant. This year they are looking forward to produce around 70,000 units.
Adding on to it, the Brand also has plans to promote the production by increasing the capacity at the facilities in Chakan and Aurangabad in the coming two years. The game plan is to take the production to 200,000 units at the Chakan Plant that currently makes around 130,000 units by the year 2018, also intending to launch and ass new models in the league.
As quoted by Martin Winterkorn the AG Chief executive with Volkswagen, that India is and would remain an important and planned growth market for the brand. It can be truly foreseen that Volkswagen would take an important place in the growth of the automobile industry in our country in the long run. The company also has plans to mark a come-back of the Passat Sedan and the remarkable Beetle in 2015.
