It has been more than a year ago, that the news of Nissan’s intention to roll out the Nissan GT-R in the domestic market of India went viral, but is has been established by the brand now, about the launch of its sports car, that is an icon, to gather at the showrooms in India by the end of this current year 2015.The reason this launch got delayed was majorly to set up the frame work in order to maintain this refined, four-wheel-drive car that like the rest of the super sports cars at present, requires a high-octane fuel to run effectively.
Constructed to reasonable acceptances and with great accuracy, there are sole four engineers across the globes who are specialized to handle the assemblage of the Nissan GT-R twin-turbo 3.8-L V6 motor.According to Guillaume Sicard, President, Operations of Nissan India, the company was focused on initially setting up of the maintenance and the after sales support unit for the car, as it’s a primary factor, that would support the post sales references of the car, estimated at around INR 2 Cr. At present, for the few Nissan GT-Rs in India, also owned by the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, the support technicians fly down to India, from Dubai and then further service the cars here, which indeed is not a great solution.Though, Nissan is now focusing on acquiring selected service facilities promoted with proficient technicians to service the Nissan GT-R. According to the brand, mechanics have to undertake four months of rigorous training to succeed as a GT-R technician, even if they want to carry a routine maintenance check.
Every dealership that sells the Nissan GT-R would have at least one of the trained and qualified technicians. The name of Nissan has been dwindling in the market of India, since long, and the brand has indeed lost the confidence of the consumers, so the intention of making it big and making it yet again, the brand plan to make a come-back with a grand product, in order to mark their foot here.Nissan GT-R, being one of the fastest cars in the world, giving a tough end to the more acclaimed names such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche etc.The car is labelled as the fastest car on the 5th rank. The car is expected to carry an expensive price tag of more than a huge INR 2 CR. That would surely impress a small yet powerful and rich section of the country.
