Nissan Assess Qashqai for India
A new crossover Qashqai by Nissan can see Indian shores soon. Nissan Qashqai will sit above Nissan Terrano in the Indian lineup of Nissan.
Nissan is now sowing seeds of success in India to get it’s future better. After launching Micra’s latest model, company is all set to focus on Nissan Terrano’s unveiling and launch in coming months. Nissan also launched Datsun officially. Datsun as a brand claims that it will produce cost effective vehicles in near future for India and other countries. Despite the slowdown, in India automotive market is growing good. The example for this is booming segment of compact sedans and SUV’s. Especially the SUV market in India is booming and the best examples in this regard are Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster.
Suddenly we have seen a certain level of change in the market such as consumers are moving to different car segments apart from entry-level small cars and sedans. These days Crossovers are also gripping up Indian car market. Volkswagen is about to launch a crossover based on its successful Polo hatchback. Honda will also launch its crossover model based on the popular hatchback Jazz. Identically now Nissan is also assessing one of the crossovers named as Qashqai for India. If launched in India, Qashqai will be placed above Nissan Terrano.
Nissan’s journey to Indian roads is big and better because company has lots of plans in the pipeline such are bringing up Infiniti brand and the Indian assembly of X-Trail SUV. Coming back to Qashqai it can be said that this is a car built on regular car platform with high ground clearance. In India people prefer that look of the vehicle should be attractive and on that part Qashqai earns all the points. The Qashqai Crossover has all the factors which can impress Indian consumers easily. The European version of the car is available with four cylinder petrol and diesel units, with an option of front wheel and all wheel drive. The car is also available with manual and automatic transmissions and five and seven seat options. The question arises here is what configuration will the car get for Indian automotive market. What we believe is that what may come, the price should be aggressive.
