Mercedes-Benz India S-Class local assembly begins

Mercedes Benz has started production of its S Class locally at their plat in Chakan, Pune. Now the S class comes up with the price of Rs 1.36 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai).
Earlier it was launched with the price tag of Rs 1.57 crores (ex-showroom Delhi) in January as new S class were imported to country via the Completely Built up Unit route.
The S Class production started locally in order to cater the high demand for the new CBU S-Class after they managed to sell out their initial inventory of 125 units already sold in just 16 days after the car’s launch and to minimize the present waiting period of 3 moths.

The unique multilingual chauffeur training program is one such initiative specially designed for our discerning S-Class customers in India, which will enable our customers to truly enjoy the epitome of luxury on wheels”
It is reported that the S 500 S Class is the one of the most powerful car to be assembled at Mercedes’s Indian facility, except the only V8 powered car to be assembled here. S class will be powered by a 4.7-liter V8 twin-turbo developing 453 Bhp and 700 Nm of torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox transfers this power to the rear wheels.
