Maruti preparing new 1L engine with 90 hp power

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car maker is currently working on a new small engine which will be first mated with the new premium hatchback, secretly named YRA. This new engine will be turbocharged having capacity of 1.01 develops 90 hp power which is best in class.

The engine which is currently developing by Maruti will comes under the segment of petrol turbocharged engines called Direct Injection Turbo Charged (DiCT),the new engine family of Maruti will primarily include  1.0L, 1.2L and 1.5L engines, which will power the upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars in India.

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the YRA equipped with three cylinder 1.0L engine by end of 2015, where it will take place above the existing swift hatchback. YRA will be a global car, as India has been one of  the important market for car. Except India it will also launched into other countries under the Suzuki badge.

Once the new 1.0l three pot engine launched with the YRA, this might be installed in Maruti’s other cars such as Swift, Celerio, Wagon R, Alto K10. Cosidering the success with recently launched AMT by Maruti, we keep hope that later on other new age cars will also get the AMT options. For the 1.0l turbocharged engine the fuel efficiency would be around 20kmpl.
