Maruti Suzuki’s fantastic sales profile for the last financial circle also witnessed for the highest number of CNG vehicles ever sold. Sales of CNG vehicles increased from 4.9 percent of the entire sales to 5.4 percent. In numbers, sales of CNG vehicles went up  from 51,631 units in 2013-14 to 62,996 units in 2014-15, a hike of 23 percent. The Brand now is the prime OEM in India to pull out self-made and assembled CNG models back in 2010.

Currently, the company platters dual fuel (CNG+petrol) variants in six of its machines, like the Alto, Alto K-10, Celerio, Wagon R, Eeco, and Ertiga. Two CNG variants, the Alto K-10 and Celerio, were launched in the 2014-15 financial year. Sensibly, Maruti’s gross of CNG-fitted vehicle sales come from cities where CNG plant is already available. Almost 50 percent of all Wagon R, Eeco, and Ertiga models run successfully in Delhi and Mumbai are CNG models.

Maruti Suzuki closed the 2014-15 economic year with a 11.11 percent jump in sales, going from 1,053,689 units in 2013-14 to 1,170,702 units in 2014-15. After suffering relatively horizontal growth of 0.3 percent in 2013-14 over 2012-13, the hike must come as bliss to India’s largest passenger car maker.
