Honda City 2014 sedan launched today with minimum price of Rs 7.42 lakh

Honda Motors Today launched its New Sedan CITY with starting price of Rs 7.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).Diesel variant starts with Rs 8.62 (ex-showroom Delhi).City is coming with both diesel and petrol versions, equipped with a 1.5 litre iDTEC and 1.5 litre i-Vtec engine.
The City is based on the Jazz hatchback platform Honda believes that the new DOHC I-DTECH diesel engine which is exclusively developed for India will be best fuel efficient in its class. The production will be done at the company’s Greater Noida Plant.
It is expected that the new City can reach to its segment position again which has been lost to Hyundai’s Verna as the new City designed in a modern way. Now it has 50mm longer wheelbase and the most legroom space in its segment.
The new car will be 10 mm taller than the older model but the length would be same. It includes some more features such as auto air conditioning, touch screen, , a five-inch audio monitor and a sunroof, which is optional.
The car had originally been unveiled in November 2013. "City has been an image leader for Honda in India since its successful debut in 1998. We have some aggressive plans and high expectation from the new car with the high localization helping us to carry forward the aggressive pricing," Hironori Kanayama, president & CEO of Honda Cars India had said.
