Ford has another plan for expansion now

Ford initiates yet another vehicle assembly and engine plant in Sanand. In the presence of the Chief Minister, Smt. Anandiben Patel and Mr. Mark Fields CEO and President for Ford Motors, sets in motion a new plant for manufacture of the engines and assembly of its vehicle in Sanand, Gujarat today. The prime model that would be rolled out of this plant is the New Ford Figo Aspire, a compact sedan we have already let you guys know about. This is the first time a compact sedan as such is being manufactured.

 

The Brand has invested USD 1 billion on the duo of the manufacturing facilities in Sanand. The plant would be quite a hit, laid over 460 acres and includes all the essential aspects for the development of a fully equipped model. The plant would be having all facilities like stamping, body painting and body assembly. The plant accommodates machining and assembly operation also for Ford’s future expansions.

 

At the plant, Mr. Mark Fields said, With today’s opening of our plant in Sanand, we have taken our growth commitment to a new high in India. We are doubling our manufacturing capacity in India, creating good jobs and serving our customers around the world with great products.The vehicle assembly plant will start with an annual capacity of 240,000 vehicles, and 270,000 engines would be made in the plant annually, with this newly opened plant, Ford might go up to 610,000 engines and 440,000 vehicles and meet with the demand  at the domestic and global markets.
