Fiat Punto Evo captured on a test
The Fiat Punto Eva, captured in an image, gets its power from 1.4L, T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine, as compared to the 1.2 or 1.4L nature aspired, petrol engines, or the currently offered 1.3L diesel engine in the segment.
The all new 135bhp, 1.4L T-Jet engine clicked while testing, the machines would be out later this year. As reports are to be speculated, Fiat is all dressed up to roll out its better power version of Punto Evo, focusing the people who are a keen for it, it also intends to use its Abarth performance on the machine. Abarth, similar to a jeep, was a brand that was promised by Fiat to be out on the Indian roads, by last year. But there has been an evident delay due to sluggish market and the decline in the exchange rates in the market as hurdles in the launch of these products.
This dynamo would produce 135 bhp on the Punto as compared to 113 bhp on the sedan. Once launched, the Punto Evo T-Jet would join hands in a list of non-luxury hatchbacks that are equipped with a turbocharged petrol engine. The VW Polo GT TSI (powered by a 105 bhp 1.2-liter TSI matched to a 7-speed DSG) and the Tata Bolt (powered by an 88 bhp 1.2-liter engine with a 5MT) are the only options in this segment to equip with a turbocharged petrol engines. It is speculated for the second half of this year for Tata Motors is reported to launch a sporty version of the Bolt as well.
Fiat India plans to introduce the Punto T-Jet (Punto Abarth) during the festival season period this year. The Italian car manufacturer would also offer an Avventura Abarth with the same engine, some reports say. Once the Fiat Punto goes out, it would face of with the VW Polo GT TSI, Tata Bolt Sport.
