Fiat is looking forward to make a com back to the Indian market, and also renew its image in India. The strategic move incorporates the introduction of the American brands Jeep and Mopar on to the Indian roads, with variants of their Abarth. The Chrysler Jeep has already involved the SUV fans anticipating the new products, with interesting news for fans anticipating a hot-hatchback. Fiat is awaited to bring out the product assembled locally, Punto Abarth in India for a very worthwhile price.
Although no formal details are yet out by the company, but it has been speculated to launch in the month of June on the Indian roads. The version out in India would be powered by 1.4L T-jet dynamo that is shared by fiat Linea. The four-cylinder T-Jet makes out 114bhp and 207Nm of force, which would report this variant as one of the most powerful hatchbacks running in India. However, there would be a few more changes in order to house the complete power. The chassis would need more strength and suspension would be more solid, with enhanced tyres, brakes and anti-roll bars.
The Abarth Punto would also be gifted with better alloy wheels, body kit and other cosmetic progress, with the Abarth’s logo in fiat’s place, to make it stand out as a separate product, and exclusive. The car might also lose some of its weight in order to yield better performance. Across the globe, the Punto Abarth gets its power by 165bhp dynamo and we really want that it is made available for India too.
However, the changes carved on it would make it a lot more cost efficient here. If the variant out in India is collected here, then it would be the first four-door Abarth Punto in the world. We expect the Punto Abarth to cost around INR 9 lakh. The product would be sold through Abarth studios which for now would be a part of the Fiat showrooms.
