Fiat India to launch Abarth 500 during festive season for INR 22-24 lakhs

Fiat India has planned to launch the Abarth 500 in India during the festive season of October November this year. It was earlier showcased at the recently held Auto Expo 2014 with the launch of Abarth 500 in India. Abarth brand is also making its entry into the Indian car market. The Abarth 500 will be equipped with the 1.4-liter T-Jet engine produces 135-140 hp (depends up to gearbox selection) and torque of 206 Nm. The Abarth 500 can reach 0-100 in just 7.9 seconds and attain the top speed of 205 km/h.
Abarth 500 gets the features such as cross drilled brake disc, 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS, EBD, 7 airbags, parking sensors, gas discharge headlights and others. The Abarth 500 likely to compete against the Mini Cooper the most popular brand in India. At the initial stage Abarth 500 will be imported into country though the CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) route. Later on the company will set up is CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly in India.
