DC Avanti seen on the Delhi streets

Although the wait for this designer car called the DC Avanti is still not over, it has been spotted running or testing on the Streets of Delhi this week by one of the car fanatics. As per the report out by Car Toq, The First Sports car of India was supposed to launch on the 15th April 2015. The concept was however showcased at the Auto Expo in 2012, and the ready for production model was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. But somehow, since then the model has been under tests for pan India planning the launch for an early 2015.

 

 

 

The Avanti gets its power by a mid-engine 2.0L four cylinder turbocharged engine capable of 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. According to the Dc brand, this model has a capacity to go over 0-100km/h in less than 8 seconds. The Avanti’s frame is made up of carbon composite and features a spaceframe built. The weight of the model is about 1,580 kg. Also the models hold a wishbone suspension setup for the fore and the rear and the sports car is based on a 170mm ground clearance. 

 

 

Speaking about the dimensions of the designer layout, Avanti measures 4,550 mm lengthwise, 1,965 mm wide, 1,200 mm tall and 2,700 mm at the base. The car is dressed up with 255/35 tyres at the fore and thicker 295/30 tyres at the rear, on 20-inch rims. Even though the sales have been schedules for the 15th April, around 500 units for the car have already been sold. The price of the beauty is around INR 34.93 lakhs, ex –showroom.
