Datsun I2 at the Auto Expo 2016

The Datsun redi-Go, also known as the Datsun I2, would showcase its pre production model at the Auto Expo 2016. At the world debut of the Renault Kwid that was organized at Chennai, India earlier this week, Carlos Ghosn, Renault-Nissan Association chairman established that the third Datsun model for India would roll out in the year 2016.

 

He also gave his affirmation that it would be grounded on the similar CMF-A (Common Modular Family) platform like the Kwid, but would not be a cross-badged creation, in that it would look totally changed. Zigwheels reportedly revealed that Datsun would display the pre-production ideal of the small car identified as Datsun I2 at the Auto Expo 2016, arranged to take room in the month of February 2016.

 

At the last version of the show, that held in 2014, Datsun exposed the redi-Go concept suggesting at the measurements and likely layout of its entry-level contribution. The redi-Go would also section its machine with the Renault Kwid, which would be motorized by a newly-created 800 cc three-cylinder petrol unit originally. Gerard Detourbet, Alliance Global Vice President, Alliance A-Segment Development Unit, reported that this machine would be a very modest unit lacking of up-to-date skills, but is demanded to offer best-in-class fuel competence.

 

Alike to the Kwid, the Datsun too would be mated with a 5-speed manual program with an AMT joining the line-up at a future phase. With a three-car line-up in its Datsun clan, Nissan India supposes above 50 percent of its trades to be derived from the Datsun brand.Once the car is out on the roads, it would complete with the current running segments like the Spark from Chevrolet, Maruti Alto, Eon from Hyundai etc. The company would be rolling it out with a price tag in between Rs.3-4lakhs, ex-showroom in the capital, currently in the pre- production stage, would be out in the month of February in the coming next year, 2016.
