Audi to start selling A3 sedan in India from mid 2014
Audi the German luxury car makers will start delivering its premium A3 sedan in India by the mid of 2014 and the new vehicle will comes up from the Audi production facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Currently company start selling A3 sedan in few countries in Europe. Next month it will be launched in US.

Company reveals that when the Audi A3 was launched it was decided that A3 will assemble locally in India as it will be the most demanding and driver of growth for the company. India will count among very few countries where the luxury sedan will be produced locally. The Audi A3 is anticipated to compete directly against the likes of Mercedes A-class and B-class and BMW's 1-series.
Audi Group CEO Rupert Stadler said” India is a "strategically important market" for the company as the country has huge growth potential for luxury car segment”
He added, company was struggling with depreciation of the currency in India and was looking forward to economic reforms, particularly in the taxation system by the new government after the parliamentary election.
Audi India CEO Joe King said “the company would like to bring every single luxury car to India but decisions in this regard will be taken based on consumer demand”
He added last year 92 per cent of the car deliveries by Audi in India were produced in the Aurangabad plant.
In 2013 Audi group has delivered over 1.5 million Audi brand cars across the globe. Finally the company has decided to invest between now and 2018 around 22 billion euros (around $30 billion at 1 euro = $1.38) in innovations and new technologies as well as in expanding its worldwide manufacturing structures.
