All Toyota Cars will get ABS as a Standard Safety Feature
It?s time for Toyota to an ABS (anti-lock Braking System) as a basic feature in all its variants. Now, this move would initially make Toyota the only brand to provide this feature as a protocol in its products.
Post the airbags, fitting hype and talk about; it’s time for Toyota to an ABS (anti-lock Braking System) as a basic feature in all its variants. Now, this move would initially make Toyota the only brand to provide this feature as a protocol in its products. Although, we have not received any confirmed time frame since when this feature would be on effect, however the brand would be making this shift as soon as possible.
To add on further, the brand would also conduct tests on its vehicles, with ABS on the Indian roads. Toyota is also thinking on pedestrian safety; all these aspects would not only make Toyota cars the safest but would also make them stand at par, amongst its rivals. Though making of ABS compulsory could be first in the auto- industry, Volkswagen and Toyota India have been offering airbags as a regular safety measure across its cars.
Such steps would ensure bring down the number of road casualties in India. And once BNVSAP (Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program) comes into action, cars in India will get safer.
The committee working on this is planning to make policies inspired to the European car safety rules, and mandate frontal and side impact crash testing at 56kmph. It is likely to be sanctioned by April, 2017.
