Toyota has announced that very soon they are going to make an announcement about the new Camry at the 2014 New York International Auto Show in a few week’s time. Most probably it will be the updated version that was on the card for the most popular premium luxury sedan.
From the long time Camry is one of the bestselling sedans ever in USA. Year ago company sold more than 400,000 units there and it is considered as the Toyota’s most important car in the country. To introduce Camry as completely fresh version for the large customer base is important for Toyota but there is one more things equally important - keeping everyone guessing. Japanese carmaker has not disclosed any details on the update in order to build more suspense for the upcoming Camry.
Whereas the Camry placed in USA as a bread and butter model, but in India it is a premium luxury sedan and here sales stood at 300 units last year, hence we do not expect to launch the face lifted Camry in a hurry in India.
In India, Toyota sells the petrol and Hybrid variant of Toyota Camry. The petrol variant powered by the 2.5 litre petrol automatic develops the power of 181 PS and 23Nm of torque. While in the Hybrid model the engine is bit detuned at 160 PS and 213 Nm of torque but equipped with the powerful 143PS electric motor which churns out the torque of 270Nm and the maximum output of 205PS.
