2014 Impala celebration in Chevy Urban Style event
Chevy celebrates 2014 Impala with pomp and show by inviting media professionals and GM employees forming rap group GMS3 for the tribute music of Impala. Guests were encouraged to share the event at social media networks. The lead interior designer also highlighted the inside elements to the guests.
The upcoming all new Chevrolet 2014 Impala was first showcased at the New York International Auto Show in April last year and at various events throughout the year, and since then it drew attention of consumers along with positive feedback. General Motors in order to continue the buzz about the vehicle, invited design focused innovators throughout the auto industry to celebrate 2014 Impala at Chevy Urban Style media and influencer event held recently. Director of Regional, Grassroots and Diversity Communications, Jocelyn Allen welcome the guest and said the new Impala is fresh, bold and inspired and the car will revive the Impala brand. She said idea behind the Urban Style is to regenerate automotive, fashion and music just like it influences our daily lives.
Crystal Windham, the man behind the Interior designing of the car highlighted the features of the car to guests. There were also a diverse group of engineers and designers of 2014 Impala present at the event like Kara Gordon, who is vehicle performance engineer. Rick Williams was also present who is well known designer and urban trendsetter to tell the story behind Impala. William is also the founder and creative director of the Distinct Life creative agency. He is also a co-owner of world renowned apparel and sneaker shops Burn Rubber which is based at metro-Detroit. William is a creative designer who permeates automotive inspired designs into his apparel line. Guests also got the opportunity to sit and receive a tour of interior elements of the car.
The Urban Style event took place at Milk Gallery situated in the Meat Packing District neighborhood of Manhattan. Clark Kent, the popular A-list music producer and DJ twisted music throughout this special night. Also among the attendees there were group of General Motors employees from the Fairfax Assembly Unit and Arlington Assembly Unit. This group of employees created a rap group GMS3 and recorded a tribute song for the Impala. GMS3 denotes how loyal the people are towards the iconic brand. Guests were encouraged to shot Impala photos and were also encouraged to share Chevy Urban Style conversation on social media networks. Another hot thing of the event was an interactive “car-fessional” camera which was installed to capture the reactions of guests to the new Impala. Following the event, a Twitter party was hosted on 13th May. Chevy Urban Style also gained significant attention on social networking website like Facebook and Instagram. The all-new 2014 Impala will come in 4-Cylinder 2.4L, 2.5L and 3.6L engine trims. New features will include a 4.2 Color display featuring Chevrolet MyLink. Active noise cancellation for all the four cylinders options, safety features like adaptive cruise-control with full-speed range, mitigation braking, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, 10 standard airbags and rear camera and rear parking assist.
