Reports speculate the awaited Hero Hx 250R, would sport a dual-riding modes, for the first time in such a segment. The bike lover would get a choice in between two variants- “City” and “Sports”. So the riders can opt for the one suitable to them in terms of its extensiveness and performance. The machine is also supposed to get a DMFi (Dual mode fuel injection) with two separate ECU maps for both the variants.
The bike would get its power from a 249cc single cylinder water cooled engine producing 31hp and 26Nm of force. The petrol powerhouse is paired up with a 6-speed gear box, with a multi plate clutch; this is a soul invention of Hero, to craft an engine so technical.
The bike has already been showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo last year, been designed and engineered by Hero and Erik Buell Racing as a joint venture. The bike being a conscious machine, standing on a slim and trim yet powerful frame of 149 kg only. It claims to reach 0-100km/h in flat 9 seconds. The suspension system of the bike comprises a telescopic fork at the front and a mono shock at the back. The shock is mounted at the left of the bike, to shrink the wheel base a bit. Proudly hold on a 300mm disc brake at the fore and a 220 mm disc brake the back. Also the brand is offering an optional ABS on the bike to opt for.
